Norwood97Yes Greatly themed with beautiful bits, this game is all about bluffing/bidding and anticipating what your opponents will do. Not random at all, but it can be played that way by younger kids who don't quite grasp the second-guessing part of the game. It is fantastic for children, and is a very entertaining filler for adults, too.
subhuman86Yes My 5 year old understands this game with no problem. It will probably be another couple of years before she will be competitive though. This game was a nice surprise. There is NO random features in this game except for the initial set up. It could help teach planning ahead and influencing your opponents for the older kids.
wkusau88Some Kinda random. Pirate themed game that is quick. Probably need to play a couple rounds to even out the luck.
fsumarc77Yes There is no doubt this is a Knizia game. The theme is thin but seems to fit well. everyone competes for shares of the treasure on islands being patrolled by Captain Flint and Ben Gunn. Competition is done via blind bidding for the islands. when a card is placed (face down) the previous one is flipped face up. If the previous card is a cannon then both cards are removed from the island. A fairly simple and easy to teach game. It's reasonably light and random. It's not a game you would play every night but is fun once in a while.
larry welborn76Yes My children enjoy this game, although I think it will be a few years before they understand the the finer points of play. Regardless, even at an early age the kids can be competitive.
