| Zopper | 8 | | | Schatz in Sicht! (=treasure in sight) is a simple roll and move game but with a trick in it: you can stack player`s pieces and therefore limit movement options of other players. For example: you can move your own pirate on top of another one in order to force the character to move another pirat in his next turn.
Another intersting part of the game are the gaps (the sea). You lose your pirates (or have to move them back to the start with the beginner`s rules) when you are the first one to reach those spots on the board but someone has to hit them so that they are passable for the other pirats. Also the scoring is special here: the first one to reach the treasure island gets only the lowet numbered chest while the 5th to reach the treasure island gets the most points.
All in all a great game - there`s more strategy involved then you will think at first sight. Especially forcing other players to move a pirate they don`t want to can be really nasty. The game works great with younger kids as well as with adults.
The game is quite inexpensive here in germany and they did a great job adding such nice components in it with that price (wooden pirates and thick cardboard).
Key elements:
optimizing dice throws (strategic thinking)
