erik2point0104Yes While 4 is just old enough to understand that you want to get 4 in a row (my 3 year old mostly just likes to put the checkers in and then let them out again) for older kids the strategy element can really shine. If I let him, my 8 year old would play this with me for 2 hours straight.

Aranza8  Thsi game has excellent replayability, all things considered. Fine motor skills, turn taking and abstract strategy are all involved. Should be a part of most basic gaming libraries.
gaharoni8  Enjoyable.
helenoftroy8  My three year old son enjoys playing with the pieces of this game which is good for his motor skills. This is a great introduction to abstract games and teaches differeniating colors and taking turns.

Norwood85Yes This classic enhanced tic-tac-toe game is perfect for teaching simple tactics and anticipatory strategy. It is quite fun on its own, but also will prepare kids for more advanced abstract and euro games.
petegrey8  A great game for kids to learn basic strategy. Very simple to learn and can be fun for them to play against an adult.

Shade_Jon8  I loved the game until I learned to solve it. A great rite of passage, and exploration of n by m space.
Admiral Fisher7  Both of my boys have enjoyed this since they were about 4. There is enough tactical play to keep them interested and sometimes they can even beat an adult.
boltongeordie76No A good trainer for kids - it plays quickly which is always a positive and it teaches planning and tactics. Not much for adults there though.
cagriggs76Some I played this one a ton when I was growing up. Now I play it on occassion with my sons. They enjoy it but my oldest (5) doesn't get the strategy yet and my second (2) just likes putting the checkers in. I think they will have more fun with the game as they get older.
davebo7  Not a lot to the game, but it is fun.
Gecko237
Larry Welborn7  Fun game to play with children.
maksum7  Easy game play, but has a certain level of depth that can grow with kids a bit.
mcross75Some Teaches some decent strategy, but still easy to learn.

runehardt74Yes Very simple game. kids like to play this game as long as they don't lose all the time. It's so simple that I see the kids getting bored with it quickly. But they will always come back to it for some quick, somewhat brainless play.
