| cindy | 8 | 8 | Some | Another game with fantastic components. The game can run a little long and there is not as much tension as one would like in a pirate game but still a game we can recommend. |
| davebo | 8 | | | Nice game for kids 9 and up, I would say. A bit of a longer game, but lots of fighting with friendly consequence makes this a winner.
My 8yo does not like it however. |

| helenoftroy | 8 | 0 | | This is more of a party/family game that is not appropriate for small children but would work for teenagers. There is a variety of things going on in the game that is broken up into easy teachable sections. |
| Krishna | 8 | | | Theme and components and gameplay are dead-on for the 10-12-year-old boy set. Can be played with younger kids, but be prepared to have a harder time with the teaching. Loads of battles on the high seas and pirate accents will obviously ensue. Not for kids who are easily disappointed/hurt by direct confrontation. |

| Admiral Fisher | 7 | | | I adore this game, BUT it is not really a game for kids. I think bright and adaptable 10 year olds might hack it in its fullest extent, though even then I doubt it would be the best game for them. Once your children get to about 12 or 13 it might be something they would really enjoy. |
| agenteasy | 7 | | | The idea: Pirates at sea, looking to become the most famous of all.
Components: Really beautiful set, with a large colourfful board, and lots of little pieces and cards. Each player also gets a player mat, which is attractive but unfortunately very flimsy.
The way it works: Each player must simultaneously and secretely pick a destination for their ship. Once the destinations are revealed, any pirates which went to the same place must fight or leave. Whoever gets to stay at each island find treasure there and have the opportunity to improve their ship. At the end of the game, the player with the most fame wins (fame is aquired by finding treasure, accumulating certain cards and defeating other pirates in combat)
Comments: This is a fun game, but there are so many rules that it can be a burden to explain. Once you get going, it is pretty simple, but the initial hurdle has been a problem in my experience. |
| gwen | 7 | | | Son (9) loves it, daughter (8) hates it. Son loves about everything that is pirate related, so it could be that he just likes it because of the theme. Biggest problem for us is that you need at least 3 players, and since daughter does not like it, that leaves only 2 to play the game. |
| jtyoshi14 | 7 | | | Fun game, but lot of competition for the resources. Kids would be frustrated with losing the battles. I would recommend this with reservations. |

| The Unbeliever | 7 | 7 | Some | Some reading required. Takes a bit too long to keep the kids' attention to the end. |
| Yollege | 7 | 7 | Some | Kids love the theme, plus it is an easy game to play. |
| Thommy8 | 4 | | | Great theme and very nice components, but strikes the wrong balance with too many rules for children and not enough interest to hold an adults attention. Try other Days of Wonder games like Ticket to Ride and Memoir 44 instead! |
| SoLove | | | | Kids love pirates. Easy to teach. And even when kids lose a battle they are able to repair and come back into the game. |
