| helenoftroy | 9 | 3 | Yes | This game teaches motor skills and taking turns. My three year old son likes the polar bear but does not necessarily understand that the polar bear needs to stay up on the ice. It is always an interesting game full of giggles. |
| Mark | 9 | 2 | Yes | Fun game that all members of the family can enjoy. Cheap too. |
| Randy Cox | 9 | 2 | No | The kids love it (2 and 3, though they liked it when they were younger). Problem is that the adult is there non-stop, because every minute you have to spend 3 minutes putting the ice back together again. |
| boltongeordie | 8 | 3 | Yes | An absolute classic. I have almost never seen it played properly, the temptation to smash all the blocks out is too great, but fun for little ones non-the-less. |
| WhiteKnight85 | 8 | | | Great game where young kids get to pound away with a hammer, and they will not get into trouble for it. Sometimes the youngest players will ignore strategy and just have fun knocking out the ice blocks. Nothing wrong with that.... |
| Aranza | 7 | | | I have not played this game as an adult, but remember it fondly from when I was a child. My version had what I suppose was meant to be an Inuit instead of a polar bear. The game is helpful for fine motor skills and turn-taking. Eventually, (maybe not-so-eventually) the older kids figure out the trick to the game and manage to keep the large block in place to the very end. Then the game loses all appeal. Young children will enjoy the destrcution, but may need a lot of help to put the ice blocks back in constantly. they may also become frustrated because they cant beat the game. |
| Germarish | 7 | | | Kids get to swing a hammer and break something. That alone makes this game a winner for most kids. But the set up time vs. play time can wear on the parents. Can easily be put together by the parents, not so easy for the kids. |

| mcross | 7 | 2 | No | Lots of setup time vs. actual play time, but young kids love it. I played this when I was a kid and now my daughter loves it as well. |
| merkle | 7 | | | Fun game for kids, I remember loving it 30 years ago (wow--that long!?!?!). But the set up time vs. play time is hard for adults. Putting it together cannot be done easily by kids--too hard to put in the last few. I grow bored playing it with them--but whacking stuff--kids love it. |

| rfage | 7 | | | Great for very young kids. Mind you, I am not sure introducing a hammer even a toy one is a really good idea with my youngest. :) |
| Shade_Jon | 7 | | | A simple game of knocking out blocks trying not to drop all the others. A nice theme for kids. |
| sigmazero13 | 7 | 3 | No | Kids seem to love this game, probably largely because they are basically not only ALLOWED to destroy something, but it's the very object of the game. The main downside, as has been noted, is that an adult presense is required for younger kids, as they may not be able to set it up (the last few cubes are a little tricker to put in; nothing an adult can't handle though). Playing with your kids isn't TOO bad, because admit it, you want to destroy something too. However, it doesn't hold an adults attention or fun factor nearly as long. It's a great way to let a kid get out some of the destructive desire in a non-destructive way. |
| Yollege | 7 | 3 | Some | The hammers are a bit thin, so they break too easy. |

| craniac | 6 | 3 | Some | Just got this classic at a thrift store and it has gotten a lot of plays over the last few days, with the kids excitedly describing their trickier moves. Not bad for $2.00! |
| fluffdaddy | 6 | | | Our five year old enjoys it... but it requires an adult present to reset the game. |
