| robartin | 9 | 3 | Some | My 3 year old loves this game. The cherries are fun toys and it teaches them how to count and take turns. Would probably get boring for older kids. |
| flowerkin | 8 | | | Both My 3 year old and my 5 year old love this game. They always ask to play the "cherry game" when I get the games out....Such negativity for this game makes me unhappy. Really, I just adjusted the rules so 2 cherries go back if the basket spills, and 1 goes back for the bird and dog. Problem with longevitys solved. Life can be pretty random. Let kids know this. I have 2 girls and they like it as well as more complex games. |
| tiggle | 7 | 3 | Some | Better than Candyland, IMO. Teaches counting and gives lessons in sportsmanship when baskets get tipped over and, in defiance of nature, all the cherries get returned to the tree. (You might want to plan a trip to the local U-Pick farm for a follow-up science lesson). |

| GelatinousGoo | 5 | 3 | No | This was quite a disappointment in our house. Get a cherry, maybe two, spill your bucket, get another one, bird takes it away... blah, blah, blah and on and on. My daughter is even confused by the random events and has no sense of our play in relation to each other. The cherries are small, loseable, and chokable. Overall the game is boring and can go on for way too long since the spill the bucket, dog, and bird eliminate any real sense of progression. |
| jeep | 5 | | | There are better games around, but it does help with counting and it does entertain the kids. |
| helenoftroy | 4 | | | This game does not do much more than teaching counting, which can be a good thing. But even as a child, I found the game very boring. |
| knilob | 4 | 3 | No | Blah! This is yet another game standard that adults seem to pull out. Why must they torture their children?
|
| musicmom | 4 | 2 | No | The main problem with this game from a parent's point of view is that the cherries are so easily lost, which actually affects how many people can play. Ages 2-4 enjoy the game and learn to count, but interest doesn't remain for long. |
| The Unbeliever | 4 | 3 | No | Teaches basic counting. |
| amcbeth | 3 | 3 | No | As a game, it's a failure. As a toy, the pieces can be fun. |
| fluffdaddy | 3 | | | Shumyum is right - tedious, frustrating & interminable pretty much cover the Hi-Ho Cherry-O experience for our family. |
| Jatoha | 3 | | | Pros: teaches counting... cute cherries
Cons: can go on and on and on...very frustrating for kids when they lose all their cherries.

| m_hamburg | 3 | | | Kids will probably like this more than I do, but I think that there are many, many better choices out there for kids. I am not a fan of games for kids with severe penalties when something goes wrong, and that is the case here. |
| pmboos | 3 | | | Dullsville - even for my son... A big plus though is that they learn how to count. And you can show them some basic addition/subtraction as well. But the fact that the game end is sort of random and there are now choices makes it very uninteresting. |
| shumyum | 3 | | | Tedious and frustrating. SO many better childrens games out there. |

| cindy | 2 | 3 | No | Tedium in the form of a boardgame. Don't foist this onto your family |
| robingoblin | 2 | | | You would think that little kids would love this game, but if they have played any game where they have any control over what happens, they quickly become frustrated and annoyed with this game. Game one seems fun, game two ok, game three they are approaching blow up.....my guy played three times and will not do so again.....which is good! |
| Styro | 2 | | | My kids like playing with the cherries more than playing the game. This means I always find little red cherries on the floor. They do not like the game because it is so random. They get close and then lose their cherries over and over. It causes frustration. |
