aldanra95Yes My grownup brother had an even better time than my kid ith this game, using the black pirate to steal coins (from me, of course). My 3 year old cannot quite use the bellows yet, but tries a lot. And he is learning that he needs to go to the port with more coins. Strategy lessons will follow.
beauka95Yes Fantastically fun game. Everything I would say about it has pretty much already been said. Great for just kids, adults with kids, or even just all adults (at times!). . .
boltongeordie96Yes Had my kids roaring with laughter. The bellows need a good squeeze, so not ideal for kids under about 6 but the usual lovely Haba components include bags for your dubloons which are colour co-ordinated with your ship and a fantastic board with islands and edges raised in relief.
Thies95Some Deserving winner of Kinderspiel des Jahres. Bit of a learning curve -- everyone should spend a few minutes experimenting with the bellows before starting -- but runs smoothly after that. Visually very appealing. Our games have been loud piratey fun. Beware of introducing it too early -- younger kids may have too much trouble working the bellows and get frustrated (this happened with our younger daughter a few weeks before her 4th birthday).
jeremycobert8  the kids in our afterschool boardgame club (4&5th graders) really like this game. its not a learning game, but it a fun game to play with lots of neat bits and parts.
Zopper8  Won the SdJ-Award as best kid`s game. First I was unimpressed but my feeling really changed after several plays. When you have some experience with blowing the ships around the game runs very smoothly. Kids often need some advices where to aim at the ship when blowing and I recommend them always to use both hands. Almost all groups catched the rules very quickly and I am able to explain the game in less then 5 minutes now. It`s very nice that you can explain some special rules while the game has already started... The ships, the wooden coins and the blowing devise (whatever you call it) are of very good quility. The only drawback is the 4 piece puzzle-board that doesn`t lie flat on the edges (but pressing it down at the right moment solves the problem). Key elements: dextery game bluffing

shawndumas75Some It's HABA which means great game bits! Good kids game. Pre-teens and teens are not likely to enjoy. No half naked women, gore, cursing, or morbidity.
wyldeoad76Some The idea is very appealing and catches everyone's eye. But the game can drag as it is a bit fiddly. It is rather difficult for younger players to both maintain the direction of the puffer and get enough force. I have rubberbanded the puffer to a small board and that helps considerably (see my comments on BoardGameGeek).
