| m_hamburg | 10 | | | One of the best games that I have played with my three-year-old. She learned to play at 2 1/2 and has been able to beat me fair and square since around the time when she turned three. The game is moderately entertaining and challenging for adults, too, which is a huge bonus. And, older kids would enjoy it as well. |
| agenteasy | 9 | | | The idea: Match the lilly pads to the hidden colour under the frogs. The player with the most lilly pads wins.
Components: This is a small box game which comes with 6 plastic frogs, each with a different colur hidden under the base, 7 cardboard "rocks" for the frogs to sit on and 18 cardboard lilly pads (3 of each colour).
The way it works: On their turn, the player flips over a lillypad to see what colour is under it. Then, they try to remember which frog has that colour under its base. If they guess correctly, they get to keep the lilly pad. At the end of their turn, the frog which was looked at "jumps" to the empty rock, which makes it harder to remember where the colours are.
Comments: This has been a huge hit with my son (3.5). When he was younger, we played without the "jumping" rule, but now he plays...and wins... on his own using the full rules (I give him two guesses each turn, though). The way the frogs jump is a very clever way to keep a game with only 6 pieces tricky to keep track of. Entertaining for kids and adults (on some level), and so inexpensive, I highly recommend it. |
| shawndumas | 8 | 5 | No | Good kids game. Pre-teens and teens are not likely to enjoy. No half naked women, gore, cursing, or morbidity. |
| Admiral Fisher | 7 | | | Not so easy - it can be a challenge for adults as well as kids. Children under about 6 seem to love it anyway and the frogs are cute. |
| fluffdaddy | 7 | | | I agree with all the positive comments, but it is easy to "run away" with the game if you get on a roll. On the postive side, the game is so short (10 min) that this does not really make a difference. My eldest (5) will play this ocassionally but likes other memory games (Das Geisterschloss/My Haunted Castle or Dish It Up) better. |
