karmic_devil10  A great game for kids in this age group! Simple rules, a bit like dominoes. develops spacial management and the luck of the draw can even help to mitigate experienced and inexperiences players (adults v. kids) a game that has been a huge hit with the younger gamers I have introduced it to.
Larry Welborn106Yes Great abstract game that children enjoy. The colors help the children to see where to place their tiles.
Meat105Yes Awesome game to play with kids. Applies to the two player travel edition as well. Started with my son when he was five.
beezwax96 Just introduced this game to my 6 and 8 year old children (as well as the grandparents) and this one has been a hit. Neat bits, simple rules and a lot of room for strategy make this one a winner. We've played 9 or 10 games and it's still going strong. Highly recommended if you don't mind playing an abstract strategy game.
dclose9   Good for age 7 and up, this game uses pretty colors and shapes and plays in an abstract manner similar to dominoes but with a better flow. Like Blokus, it helps develop spatial thinking, but it plays better than Blokus with less than four players.
jtyoshi149  Easy game to grasp and no direct conflict. Point scoring is simplistic and great for kids to identify pattern recognition. Definitely a recommended game.
shawndumas98Yes Great components! Pre-teens and teens will love it. No half naked women, gore, cursing, or morbidity.
alkaiser86Yes Younger kids with good spacial skills can do fairly well at this game. My 6 year old is very good at pattern recognition and she picked it up quickly. She doesn't quite have the blocking skills down well enough to beat anyone but played with little blocking and she can hold her own.
DoctorJ8  Works very well with kids, although they may not understand all the nuances of the scoring. Works especially well as a partnerdhip game. My wife teams up with our six year old and I team up with our four year old and we have a very competitive game. My kids love to play this.
duchamp88Some Nice and fast, but pretty much luck ...
gwen8  Kids started playing this at ages 7 & 8. They had to get used to the scoring system, but that did not take them very long. Simple rules, short playing time, language independent.
jwdiscovery8  So, I played this with my four year old daughter. We both followed the general rule that you play a piece to help out your LOWEST scoring color. I would ask her what her lowest piece was, she would tell me, then I would ask her if she had any pieces that matched, and she would say "yes", and then I would show her all of her options on the board and I would let her decide. Point is - she beat me!!! She really likes this one and she can only learn to love it more as she gets older!
laraberrycross87Yes Scoring is a little counter-intuitive, but gameplay is simple. You have to take it easy on the kids though.
mawiker87Yes
The Unbeliever88Yes An abstract that my kids like!
Yokiboy87Yes Ingenious is a wonderful game. Beautiful for two, but it scales well up to four players as well. There's strategy on a lot of levels in this one, and it's a very entertaining game. Hard to play just once. Kids can play it by themselves. A word of caution, cheaters will find it hard to resist nudging their scoring markers along as they track their own scores.
Admiral Fisher7  This is something that a 7 year old can get their head around with a bit of practise.
boltongeordie76Some A good game but just not as appealing to kids as, say, Blokus. Especially as the flat board and scoreboards are not sympathetic to knocks or indelicate placement.
cindy78Yes Good game, very stategic but enough luck to give children a chance.
