| shumyum | 9 | | | One of two of my five-year-old twins (boy and girl) favorite games (and I have introduced them to quite a few). The big plus is that it can be played cooperatively or competitively (which also makes it play much faster). They also enjoyed it when they were four years old. A great (fun) introduction to deductive reasoning. Also introduces them to reading time. |
| fluffdaddy | 6 | | | Decent introduction to the deduction genre... but the game runs a little long for what it is. (BTW, for adults, avoid ye olde Clue & go straight for Clue DVD, which is a much better version of the classic.) |
| musicmom | 6 | 5 | No | My kids ask for this one a lot. Ages 5-7 is about right. It's too hard for younger kids and too boring for older kids. |
| Styro | 6 | 5 | No | Our kids (5, 7, and 9) enjoy playing this game, although the 9-year-old has mostly lost interest. It is a very simplistic game with a roll-and-move mechanic that mostly just takes up time. There is very little strategy or thought required, and no real deduction. Whoever rolls the best will win.
With all that said, though, little kids really seem to like it and it is OK as an intro to deductive thinking. |
| mcross | 5 | 6 | No | Very simple, but requires some patience. |
| The Unbeliever | 5 | 6 | No | Too hard for the young ones. Too easy for the older ones. Requires several people to be at the right age to enjoy it. |
