shumyum10  THE favorite game of my five year old twins (they also played it when they were four). A major reason for this is that it can be played cooperatively. Stay VERY far away from the different Hobbit game (with Smaug in the middle).
cagriggs95Yes A great kids game by Knizia that has some interesting decisions and a good amount of chance. My five-year-old loves this game because you get to defeat monsters and recruit allies. He really enjoys the hidden marble mechanic in the game. I've been impressed with how quickly and easily he understood the game. A great game to introduce children to some of the more advanced techniques of games.
shawndumas94No Great game bits! My kids (4 and 6) love it. It runs a bit long. Pre-teens and teens are not likely to enjoy. No half naked women, gore, cursing, or morbidity.
wmshub95Some My daughter's favorite game at this time! Yes, it's all random stuff, but she loves it. She likes rolling the dice, spinning the spinner, and...most of all...she loves THE PALANTIR TEST. For an adult there isn't much that is interesting. The decisions are all very simple.
dangermike84Some This game breaks down into two phases. In the first phase players move around the lefthand side of the board trying to pick up as many friend tokens as they can. Then they head for Mordor to defeat Sauron and destroy the Ring. The friend tokens are important because they let you continue your turn if you are defeated or imprisoned. Not a lot of strategy, but the feeling of adventure means the kids don't seem to mind losing this game.
Ossian8  A big favourite for my daughter (age 6) though she needs help to play.
gilesclone75Some My daughter (almost 7) still loves this game. But we play almost entirely cooperatively (no one sticks you with the Nazgul). Her favorite part is getting friends. She always wants Shadowfax to be her friend and will not exchange him even to win. But she hates the Palantir! Fortunately, with her strategy of going back for extra friends, this isn't usually a big problem. A much better game than the reviews at BGG lead me to believe. But not much their for the adults.
Yollege75Some Nice little game for kids. LOTR theme, with Knizias name, make it interesting for adults, although the gameplay can be pretty basic. Multiple paths makes it interesting for a kids game.
goldenboat6  Probably the favorite roll and move game for my guys.
