| fsumarc | 9 | 7 | Yes | This is a slightly heavier strategy game but still light enough and random enough that it works well with kids. Also the theme, dogs running around collecting bones, grabs the kids attention. here's a heads-up. There is dog piddle in this game. It's not done in a gross way though. it is simply a mechanic for players to block other players by placing a token at intersections with lamp posts. (the dog wees on it). any dog entering that space must stop their movement for a turn (sniffing). They can then move on or replace the piddle puddle. a nice choice of things to do each turn. beg for food, search garbage, deliver papers, etc. be the first to collect x number of bones (pre determine for game length) and avoid the dogcatcher wins. Fun game. can go long so lessen the bone count to make it shorter. |
| craniac | 5 | 8 | Some | We just never hit the perfect number of players, so my oldest, nine, was bored by the downtime. My youngest, six, loved the poodle but got a little bored as well. Sort of a roll-and-move feel. I ended up trading it away although if someone gave it to me I wouldn't reject it. Maybe they all need to be a little older or we needed to play with just three. Your mileage may vary. |
