luwies.mum910Yes A lot simpler and faster than Puerto Rico, requiring minimal set-up, is easier to learn, but no less fun than Puerto Rico. This game also takes less time to play, and is easily re-playable several times over the course of an evening. There are numerous strategies and ways to succeed in this game, which keeps it interesting and, in my opinion, more re-playable than Puerto Rico, in which one tends to fall into the same pattern over and over.
Matt Loter99Yes Great game on it's own. It also helps to lay the foundation for understanding much more complicated concepts that will turn up in games as they get older.
molnar910Yes We've recently started playing this a lot more 2p - quick, lots of variety from game to game, different strategies to explore. And I think my daughter quickly grokked it a lot better than Starship Catan.
shawndumas912Yes Smart teens will have no trouble and are likely to enjoy. No half naked women, gore, cursing, or morbidity.
davebo810Yes My boy's been playing this since he was 9. I wouldn't start the average kid on this game, but I've taught a few kids this game and they've done well.
erik2point088Yes Not every 8 year old will enjoy this, but mine requests it when it is just the two of us playing. Although he hasn't beaten me yet, he has a ton of fun, and is really starting to understand how such a complicated (for kids anyway) game works.
pikkusiili2000810Yes
Shade_Jon89Yes The kids I know like the game. The rules and card interactions are little complicated to learn initially, but after that it becomes easy. Strategy is a little harder, however.
BaSL710Yes Quite complicated, but a good game for kids with more game experience.
Mark7 Yes Lighter variation of Puerto Rico. Older, experienced kids may well enjoy it. Theme may not appeal immediately.
Merkle711Yes If a child has gotten used to playing some of the other Eurogames, then this game may go over well. As a first game, however, start with others (Settlers, for example). Did work well, in that context, in our house.
laraberrycross611Yes Not nearly as good as Puerto Rico, but it's pretty short.
The Unbeliever610Some Dry and chaotic.
