| mindstar | 10 | 8 | Yes | My boys love this game. Easy to learn. Miniatures are well produced. |
| slapdash | 10 | 10 | Some | Axis and Allies is a great game and can be a lot of fun if players are at a similar experience level. Not a lot of fun to play if you are the best or the worst. A lot of downtime between turns. |
| ed95005 | 8 | 10 | Yes | Boys will love this, a classic. |
| Mark | 8 | 10 | Yes | Classic World War II game. |
| pikkusiili2000 | 8 | 12 | Yes | Mostly good for kids with a very long attention span and interest in war |
| The Unbeliever | 8 | 12 | Yes | Long. |
| wkusau | 8 | 11 | Yes | Cool toy soldiers and a little history. This is long so attention span is a problem. The game itself is better for older teens but younger kids can play. |
| BaSL | 7 | 12 | Yes | Great, but big WWII game. Requires some experience with other 'bigger' games. |
| Darksan | 7 | 10 | Yes | A bit to complicated for most children they can still have lots of fun with the miniatures. |
| Elden | 7 | 11 | Yes | It's a longer war game. More developed that most board games familiar to 10-12 year olds. The strategy stretches kids. There is definitely a chance for frustration due to the perceived difficulty and length of time and effort put into the game. |

| pilgrim | 7 | 9 | Yes | I've played this with our boys the last two Christmas vacations. Our 11 and 9 year old request it, enjoy playing it, and would like to play it again. Our 7 year old wants to play it but never lasts very long; the minis appeal to him (I think), but he just doesn't have the patience for the turns.
My rating reflects the game as played by an 11 & 9 year old; there's a bit too much going on for them to play a competitive game (and it's difficult to help one, without being viewed as unfair by the other), and they take losing a bit hard when we have invested so much time into a single game. When the age gets pushed up to 13-14, the rating goes up to a 9. |
