Mark1012Yes Excellent wargame for older kids. Similar mechanics to Memoir '44 and Battlelore, but more complexity than Memoir and less chaos than Battlelore. Gives the feeling of classic warfare - two armies meeting face to face on a battlefield. Great fun.
cindy910Yes This is a fantastic game for anyone interested in history based wargames. Not really a family game, it is a 2-player simulation of the Punic Wars. The tactics and strategies of pre-gunpowder warfare are brought to life in this engaging game. This game is not for every person, but for a child or adult interested in history or wargames this is a must. There are many senarios and lots of replay value. better than its cousin Memoir 44.
robingoblin910Yes Excellent game for pre-teens to cut their wargaming teeth on. They learn from the play, but can manage much of the strategy. In addition, there's enough luck to help them win enough/keep it close while they learn.
TGov912Yes While this is my favorite of the C&C line, I would have to say that it would be wise to start a kid out on Memoir 44 then if that goes well move them to C&C:A. The history is great and the game is wonderful, there is just a little bit more to keep track of and learn compared to Memoir.
laraberrycross812Yes Great game, but the blocks aren't as exciting as minis.
mentis810Yes This is a great game. Engaging for adults, but kids can readily play it as well. The only issue for children might be initially understanding what some of the special cards can do. The linear battle tactics and the designation of flanks in this game are appropriate to the time period simulated. The mechanics work well (unlike in Memoir 44 - linear tactics don't fit in well with WWII).
mindstar812Yes Similar mechanics to Memoir '44. Setup takes more time. A lot of blocks are included. Well produced.
