| mi_de | 10 | | | The favorite game of my son, started playing at 4, and still playing as he approaches 5. We have played easier and harder games by removing help cards, 2 and 3 player. Game time 15 minutes, and he has requested multiple repeat plays, and has disappeared Saturday morning to rummage for it in the closet, and set it up himself. Parents can maintain interest as well. |
| Sprydle | 10 | 4 | Yes | I wish someone would produce these Family Pastimes games with some quality components because quite simply they are the very best children and children+adult games out there. What makes them so good is unlike other fun games for youngins and adults like Gulo Gulo or Chicken Cha Cha Cha is that there are real multiple-layered decisions to be made on each turn, but which remain quite kid-capable. These games are MAGIC |

| corross | 8 | 4 | Some | I think this is one of the best of the cooperative games for children. My children (now ages 7 and 5) don't ask for it often any more, but a year ago they were playing it often. I think the sweet spot for this, age-wise, is between about 5 and 8 -- I imagine that younger kids could play it (because it's cooperative, they can be guided pretty easily), but that older children would find it pretty dull.
It involves some (child-level) strategy in setting up the pathway structure on the board and in deciding which tool to use to encounter dangers. I like the cooperative element -- encouraging siblings to work together rather than squabble is a plus in my book!
I don't imagine any adult would choose to play it for its own sake, but as a game played with children, it's not bad. |
| fsumarc | 8 | 4 | Some | A good cooperative game to play with the young ones that is enjoyable and also teaches them about working together while using some silly theme elements that the kids get a kick out of. Once they reach about 8 I think they would lose interest with the simplicity of the game. |
| alkaiser | 7 | 5 | Some | Cooperative planning game of getting the most treasures. Fairly simple play but if you're not thinking ahead you'll come up short. Quick enough that you can get in several plays to try to improve your performance which more than likely your kids will want to do. |
