| Ed the Red | 8 | 5 | Yes | My kids enjoy this and often ask to play it. There is genuine delight when they produce a cunning play, and they have certainly learned plenty of tactics (when to pass even if you could go, for example) which are quite sophisticated. The artwork is very nice, and the rules clear and straightforward (though we never play with the advanced partnership rules, it's everyone for themself in our house!). The only downside is that the starting hand size is quite large (in theory you play with all the cards, we usually start with 12 each irrespective of the number of players) and can be difficult to manage for small hands. But recommended if you can get hold of it. |
