|Ed the Red||6||8||Yes ||This is more complicated version of Take it Easy/Hextension, with additional odd-shaped boards, some extra rules and more pieces. As such, it is OK, but lacks the simplicity of the original, and there are other games of this complexity which I would choose in preference. However, to children who really like Take It Easy but are getting tired of the limited number of options involved then this might be a good buy.
I've played it a few times with my 8yo who understood and enjoyed it reasonably well (being familiar with TIE), so I don't think there is a problem with that age playing it, though the adult may have to calculate scores (which can be tricky, or trickier than TIE anyway due to the more complicated scoring rules).
