| fluffdaddy | 9 | 4 | Some | The cutest thing about this game is the wooden turtles - you roll them by pulling back on their spherical shell - but that doesn't keep it from being a very enjoyable game with small fry. There are five games in the rulebook (the 1st, 2nd & 5th games are our favorites) but you can easily create games of your own with the set.
As well, there is another (stand-alone) game in this series that I haven't seen yet. It only uses one turtle and the main game is evidently turtle bowling. |
| shawndumas | 7 | 4 | Some | It's HABA which means great game bits! Good kids game. Pre-teens and teens are not likely to enjoy. No half naked women, gore, cursing, or morbidity. |
| Xanthos | 7 | 4 | Some | This is a pretty good game. Kids are drawn to the cute turtle characters. It can be tempting for young children to make their turtle move twice if it didn't go quite far enough to the current goal. Also, due to the puzzle piece nature of the board one of the four tracks tends to be a bumpy ride for the turtle in that lane. Young children and even elementary students enjoy playing this. It can be difficult sometimes to judge just who is closest to the target. The soccer varient seemed difficult to implement the one time I tried with upper elementary students. The racing game(s) are much better. Young children love collecting the tiles if they won that round. |
