It's this latter part that raises the age floor, because younger kids will almost certainly be stomped if they play against older kids, especially if the older kids are unsympathetic bullies who go out of their way to foil younger kids' attempts at making scoring patterns just as they are about to be completed. The game also has what some consider a fatal flaw in that the second player, by mirroring the moves of the first player, can guarantee a tie score every game. But if two equally skilled players start with three asymmetrically placed pieces already on the board, DaVinci's Challenge can be both fun and ... challenging. |
