| Elden | 9 | 8 | Yes | I hesitate to recommend this game to kids less than 8. The complexity increases with the amount of tiles played. However, once a child catches on, they almost universally enjoy the game and ask to play again. |
| larry welborn | 9 | 4 | Yes | Perhaps the best Carcassonne version for children. The ark and prophet are two mechanics that help the children remain competitive when playing with adults. |
| TGov | 9 | 7 | Yes | Would say this is probably the best version for kids IMO. |
| Xanthos | 9 | 8 | Yes | Our gaming group at church pretty much always has at least one group that will play this at the begining of the session. They will sometimes play two game or else pass the game on to another group who will also play it. It doesn't take all that long to explain. Some kids really enjoy the fact that you are scoring points fairly quickly in the game. |
| clandaith | 8 | 6 | Some | Great little game. Young kids can play this game but will need help with determining where to place their meeples to get a good score. |
| davebo | 8 | | | The new favorite flavor of Carc for me and my 10yo. Good for kids 9 and up I would say. Younger kids could play it if you took it easy. |
| guantanamo | 8 | 8 | Yes | I good version of the Carc classic. |

| metalchorus | 8 | 7 | | Nice spin on regular Carc. Easier field scoring. My seven year old has no problems playing this. |
| prophx | 8 | 8 | Yes | Excellent game for layout construction using tiles. The connection of roads and decisions on when to close cities (both yours or your opponent) gives alot for kids to think about and be challenged with. |
| sigmazero13 | 8 | 8 | Yes | Definitely playable by kids, though some sense of pattern recognition and advanced planning may help; young kids may be too impulsive to really do well, or may not even be able to see where to match up their tiles.
Although this game has a religious theme , you don't have to be religious to enjoy the game; it's a thin enough theme where it won't detract from the game (though you can also use it to spark interest in the Old Testament in some ways, especially the parts about Moses and the Ark) |
| wkusau | 8 | 8 | Yes | A good Carc variety. The religious aspect is there and can be talked about or not. |
| cagriggs | 7 | 8 | Yes | I've only played this with my oldest son and he is currently five. He understand the linking of the cities, roads, and fields but he doesn't get the strategy in laying down followers to claim an area. We end up just building a map, which he really enjoys. I think he is going to have a lot more fun with the game as he gets older. |
| fuzzyfife | 7 | 8 | Yes | Another Carc Game. If your child likes and can play original Car he can play this one. |
| tedy622 | 7 | 8 | Yes | I also wouldn't recommend this game for anyone under 8 years, but it's a fun one and easy to learn. It can also be played more strategically by adults so go for multiple age groups. |
